Join friends and supporters of The Birchtree Center at the annual Benefit for Learning on November 15 at Redhook Brewery at 1 Redhook Way in Portsmouth. This fun event features live music, live and silent auctions, raffles, appetizers, desserts, and drinks. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit Birchtree Center’s educational and therapeutic programs for children and youth with autism and their families.
Musician Elijah Clark opens the evening with soulful light rock and crowd-pleasing covers. Then dancer Naomi Diaz–who is also a Birchtree instructor–offers up a Polynesian dance demonstration. A quick and entertaining live auction follows. Demijon Music Clan wraps up the evening with lively Irish and American folk and rock music.
Guests can bid to win auction and raffle prizes perfect for family entertainment, weekend getaways, and holiday gift giving. Prizes include Disney Park Hopper passes, resort stays, ski lift tickets, hockey and lacrosse gear, restaurant gift cards, sports tickets, jewelry, massage and salon services, original artwork, family entertainment, wine, beer, chocolate, and VIP tickets to a taping of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Appetizers and desserts will be served; guests can also sample beers and other beverages from Redhook’s cash bar.
Proceeds support the nonprofit Birchtree Center’s work to transform the lives of children and youth with autism. Twenty-one public school districts in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts send students to attend Birchtree’s year-round, special-educational day school—the only program of its kind in New Hampshire. Birchtree’s autism experts also travel more than 23,000 miles per year to serve students with autism in their local public schools and family homes throughout northern New England.
Event sponsors and table hosts include Unitil, McLane Law Firm, Commonwealth Dynamics, Portsmouth Builders, The Sound, Frank & Liliane Conlan, Gary Epler & MaryLiz Geffert, Carol & Harry McClard, Andy & Julie Smith, Infantine/Cross Insurance, NBT Bank, Ray Beaudoin & Sons, and Redhook Brewery.
