What Should I Do About Student Behavior?
An Introduction to Function-Based Behavior Strategies
An Autism Workshop for Para-Educators, Childcare Providers & Direct Service Providers
Presenter: Stephanie Morin, MSEd, BCBA, Outreach Clinical Director
WHAT you should do about student behavior depends on WHY a student is doing it! Board Certified Behavior Analyst Stephanie Morin will offer an introduction to using function-based behavior strategies in the classroom. When a student’s team understands the function that a behavior serves for a particular student, the team can come up with more effective strategies for preventing and reducing those behaviors that can interfere with learning. This function-based approach can be effective for many students–including those with autism.
This 1.5-hour workshop includes a presentation followed by questions and discussion. The workshop is open to all–including educators, parents, and guardians–but the workshop is designed to be especially useful to para-educators and others who work one-on-one or in small groups with individuals with autism in school and childcare settings. Certificates of attendance are provided.
Admission is complimentary and reservations are suggested. Call The Birchtree Center at 603-433-4192 or click here to register.
