Holiday Hopping & Other December Fun

We had a delightful December at Birchtree’s day school. Students learned about fall and winter holidays across the globe during Birchtree’s annual “Holiday Hopping” event. Students enjoyed hands-on activities related to Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas, Diwali, and more.

Classrooms teamed up to decorate their doors to represent different holidays. Volunteers from the Altrusa Club of the Seacoast came in to read winter- and holiday-themed books to our students. And our art instructor and Occupational Therapists led some fun winter-themed activities, including painting pinecones, concocting indoor “snow,” and creating swirly tree and candy-cane prints.

Happy holidays, everyone!

Because of a generous Allison Keller Education Technology Grant from The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, we were able to install a smart projector in our multi-purpose room this fall.
