We had a short but sweet February at Birchtree! Volunteers from Altrusa International of the Seacoast read “Turkey’s Valentine Surprise” to our students and helped them decorate bags to serve as their personal mailboxes on Valentine’s Day. Students also created valentine cards in art class and delivered cards to their classmates.

During a school-wide Kindness Week, students enjoyed crafts, games, and sensory activities promoting kindness throughout our Birchtree community. In art class, students painted rocks with positive messages and fun designs. Then they went searching for those rocks in a Kindness Scavenger Hunt later that week. Classrooms also teamed up to decorate their doors to show what kindness means to their classroom. A Sweetheart Shout-Out Board recognized students and staff for their random acts of kindness throughout the week.
