Organization Overview

The Birchtree Center exists to promote independence, engaging relationships, and productive lives for children and youth with autism at home, at school, and in the community.

Public school districts in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts rely on The Birchtree Center’s autism expertise.

As part of Birchtree’s Outreach Program, Birchtree’s staff travels over 30,000 miles per year to provide consultation and services to students in their local schools. Information about Outreach services for schools and agencies is here. Information about workshops and consultation for families is here.

For students who need even more intensive support, Birchtree’s day school in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is the only school in New Hampshire serving students with autism exclusively. More information about Birchtree’s day school is here.

The Birchtree Center also offers occasional autism workshops and other educational programs open to the public; click here for upcoming events.

Unfortunately, service fees cannot cover the full cost of The Birchtree Center’s intensive programs. That’s why our nonprofit depends on donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Your contribution can help fund therapeutic equipment, instructional technology, and other essentials—click here to get involved.
