After more than three months of remote instruction, we welcomed students back to Birchtree for in-person instruction in small student cohorts starting in July. We are also offering home-based services and remote instruction for students as needed. Thank you to everyone who donated to The Birchtree Center’s Student Support Fund this spring during our 2020 Wellness Challenge! Your donations are helping to fund technology, supplies, and expert staffing–so that Birchtree’s students with autism can learn at home during the pandemic. And, as soon as it’s safe to do so, you’ll help us welcome students back to school–with the therapeutic equipment, classroom supplies, and expert staffing our students need to thrive. In November, our students and staff created and shared a delicious Practice Thanksgiving meal. It helped students to become more familiar with traditional fare and to prepare for holiday celebrations with their families. Students also created centerpieces and offered a festive toast before the meal.Continue reading
